We have returned from the ACI Aviation Security Committee meeting in Izmir, Türkiye, bringing back valuable insights from across the aviation security sector.
A key theme of the discussions was the challenge of aligning all stakeholders in the security chain: airport authorities, operators, regulators, technology providers and all companies that support daily airport operations. Modern aviation security is not only about compliance. It is built on cooperation, integration and shared responsibility.
The agenda included a detailed comparison of American and European aviation security approaches presented by TSA and ECAC.
Another important topic was drone protection. Airports around the world face growing risks related to unauthorized UAVs, so detection systems, counter-drone technologies and coordinated response procedures are becoming essential for maintaining operational continuity and passenger safety. It is encouraging to see how much progress has been made and how much work is still ahead.
As a provider of advanced Baggage Handling System solutions, Dimark is proud to support safer, more efficient and better connected airport operations.
